This brings up an interesting topic.
There is a group of history buffs reenacting the Lewis and Clark expedition. They were met with opposition by a group of American Indians who allegedly threatened to tip over the "Lewis" and "Clark"'s boat.
"How can we allow Lewis and Clark to tell our story when they're the ones who brought death and genocide to our people?", says Alex White Plume of the Pine Ridge Indian reservation.
Was Western expansion inevitable? More importantly, should we commemorate Lewis and Clarks expedition?

Should we hide our history because some people don't agree with it? There were Indian massacres too. Lots of them.
Isn't Alex Plume forgetting about Sacagewea? Without her, there would have been no expedition.
The Indians are just looking for somthing to gripe about. Watch this lead to a demand for Reparations.
Interesting new poll just came out- American Indians were polled as to whether they found the name "Redskins" offensive for the Washington football team. Only 3 or 4 percent were offended (if I remember the article correctly). Anyway, it was a very small minority. Most are mature enough to realize that things like that are really a way to honor them and not meant to demean. Just as with the re-enactors; it's only a small minority who have nothing better to do. People need to quit trying to change the past and work to make the future better.
I AM THE WALRUS- goo goo ga joob
