The median line represents a balanced budget. Any deviation from this line indicates money taken from the citizens unnecessarily(surplus), or money spent that does not yet exist(deficit).
Sometimes the numbers just scream.

Our future generations will be forever in debt due to the past year. What a mess our sinfulnes has created.
I agree with C.S. Lewis in his article [The] "Dangers of National Repentence" that "Let us repent our national sins" often means: "...attributing to our neighbor (even our Christian neighbor) in the cabinet, whenever we disagree with him, every abominable motive that Satan can suggest to our fancy."
Cerainly the kind of repentence according to II Chronicles 7:14 is in order in America, but it starts with knowing what we are repenting for - and changing that - not repenting for what someone else has done. I highly recommend a quick read of C.S. Lewis' thoughts on the matter in the aforementioned article, in the book "The Grand Miracle" for further insight.
We are called to differentiate between good and evil - not repent for someone else's evil actions. Robert, I think you are getting the right idea by being prophetic, versus offended with the evil.
BCBC, you mean prophetic in the sense of calling out wrongs that I see, not as in predicting the future?
As in calling out wrongs that you see, ostensibly with integrity to your faith in God and your conscience - that was the function of prophets who prophesied in the past. Sorry for not commenting sooner.
