By a vote of 84-16, the Senate embraced an amendment by Sen. David Vitter, a Louisiana Republican. He attached his measure to a domestic security spending bill for the fiscal year starting October 1 that the Senate is expected to pass soon."
File this vote under 'der'. The Second amendment is not to be violated. And of course, the usual crew of wimpy liberals decry the desicion, with Edward 'I wasn't drunk' Kennedy saying "pay-back time by the National Rifle Association" and Dick Turban relating this to people sniping National Gaurdsmen.

Yeah, that was a dumb idea in LA. The police took away all the guns but there wasn't enough of them to help patrol the area. In fact, during the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles, many shops were looted and destroyed but the ones that weren't were the Korean owners who have firearms to defend their stores. When the owners who didn't have firearms wanted to purchase one, they had to wait for the 30 day waiting period. Needless to say, they became victims as well.
Even for the rest of us, if you call 911, it will take the police at least 5 min to get there and in a case where you or your family is threatened, waiting for the police to come may be too late.
That is good news.
Mercy, that is very true.
