Bush tapes

A "friend" of President Bush secretly tape recorded nine hours of conversations with Bush before he became president. Now he has released them. Need I say that reporters are eating this up....

Is this right for this man to release these tapes? Is it a violation of Bush's privacy?

This smells of Karl Rove. This was orchestrated by the White House. Please note that I am not saying Bush himslef is behind it.
This is a perfect story at the perfect time. I wonder how long Rove has been holding this one.

Bush needs to appeal to (1) Europe, and (2) the 50% of the country that did not vote for him. Bush is right now in Europe trying to make nice. They see him as a crazed left wing Christian nut. He will not drink with the French and he needs to show them that he is human.

This article really makes Bush look good. It assures his base of his fundamentalist Christian stripes, but explains of soft stance on some issues and makes him look human and sympathetic.

It reveals just enough dirt to make it look real, but is not truely damning. The dirt helps win sympathy. He did marijuana but not cock? That looks good. he explains his refusal to talk about the mary jane admirably. The Christian right will understand because he was a sinner and has changed, but he was not too much a sinner with coke. Other will see him as admitting his past trasngressions and identify with him a little more.

Rove is simply a genious.
