Isreal legal immigration rises

Story: "According to Jewish Agency estimates, 24,000 people from countries around the world will immigrate to Israel in the course of the year 2006, up from the 22,657 people who made aliyah in 2005.

In parallel, two special ISRAIR flights –from Paris and Marseille - landed in Israel on July 25 bringing 650 new immigrants from France. This is the first time in decades that such a large number of new immigrants from France have landed in one day."

During the summer months, six EL AL flights will land in Israel carrying 1,500 new immigrants from North America. By the end of the year, it is estimated that there will be a total of 3,400 new immigrants from North America (U.S.A. and Canada), up from 2,987 in 2005."

So, despite missles flying in with reckless abandon, muslim women and children walking around with bombs set to go off in a pizza parlor, and the persistant threat from Iran, people are still moving in. And running from the liberal paradise of France, no less.

There has been something of a decline in immigration from the former Soviet Union, which was formally the largest source of immigration to Israel.

God Bless

Who in their right mind would want to live in France? It's like there's a strike of some sort every single freakin week. The 10 days that I was in Paris, there were three strikes, the baggage handlers when I got off the plane, the museum workers the next day until the last day, then the bus drivers started the day I left.

Yeah, working those 35 hour work weeks are just killers, aren't they.

The bus drivers in Iran had a reason to strike, the french ones don't.

Israel will never allow news agencies to report about the many who are applying for immigration out of Israel.
This is another propaganda that Israel is a safe haven, specially after the recent Israeli-Lebanese war.

Isreal seeks immigrants all the time,it is important to its continued growth,I returned here with three young jewish children in December 06 and I am going to return to England with my family because bureaucracy moves so slow it has become un-inviting here, the requirements change on a day to day basis, and without working I cannot support my family!
