The Worcester representative in the House of Commons is a Labour party member. His expense bill is one of the highest in parliament.

That strikes me as strange. The guy from the house of commons has one of the largest bills?

It does strike me as odd that this is even mentioned in the media. Who cares if Dick Cheney likes to have a couple cans of Sprite? Does it matter that he likes to watch Fox News? Oy. Weird MSM.

The House of Commons are more active than the House of Lords. The Lords just debate, but the Commons members have to be involved in representing their constituencies.

However, our Labour member is only a very junior member of government, so his expenses are suspicously high.

He also built a swimming pool without getting planning permission. The Conservative controlled local council (which my father is on) took great delight in rebuking him for this.

Thanks for visiting Jenna. Yes, the MSM is excedingly strange. A lot like the democrate party, come to think of it. :D

Matt,
So the commons is more active, but the house of Lords still has a say in the end? Sounds a lot like the senate.
A swimming pool? For himself, or the community?

The pool was for himself, of course. But he was very naughty skipping the planning restrictions.

The House of Lords is very important in checking dumb legislation from the Commons.
