Gas prices

Don't look now, but I think the gas prices have peaked and fallen for the summer. I filled up on friday for $2.49, and the price of crude has fallen to around $68.

And with just a few dollar drop in the price of a barrel, we have a disproportionate drop in the price of a gallon of gas. So, the oil companies aren't evil? Amazing.

$2.49? What remote desert are you living in:o) Here in FL which is relatively less than the majority runs $2.79.

If this persists in the long haul, the problem is people are starting to not worry about it which means not demanding for more fuel efficient cars or alternative energy and that means our continued dependence on foreign oil.

Acctually, it was 2.32 in my area today.
I love texas.

In the long haul, we don't really have a problem here. If oil prices rise to a high enough point, the US can be compleatly self sufficient, while the cheaper alternatives are phased in.

In the meantime, how much do you really think OPEC or Venezula will stop selling to the only superpower on earth? I think we're safe, if just from an economic standpoint. If someone will buy the oil, they'll sell it to them, even if it is the infedel US.

$2.32?!? Where did you fill up? Up here it's at least $0.30 higher.

Are you driving already?

I didn't see the $2.32, but WBAP was talking about a price war in Dallas, and 8 stations were at $2.32.

No, I did fill up for $2.49 though. Diesel is a little more, but not much.

Yes, I'm driving.

whys that?

In extension -- I'm staying off all roads remotely near your house... which will be very difficult since I live "remotely" near you.

Nice. Closer to the refinerys, you lucky people.

We were driving home from CompUSA last night, and the price of gas fell 3 cents at one station, within an hour.
