Global Warming predictions change.

The Austrelian: (Great read in and of itself)
"For the first time, scientists are confident enough to project a 3C rise on the average global daily temperature by the end of this century if no action is taken to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

The Draft Fourth Assessment Report says the temperature increase could be contained to 2C by 2100 if greenhouse gas emissions are held at current levels."

94 years from now, we can say with supream confedence, that it will be, on average, a whole whopping 3 degrees celcius hotter. Well, hum dinger. I guess we had better start digging our graves now, calamity is upon us!! If we take action, the most we can do is only make it change 2 degrees, or 1 degree of difference in 100 years.

One more thing: With just a few years of documentable reserch behind them, how can these scientists predict what will happen in 100 years? Heck, they couldn't even predict where Ernesto was going, or a weather forcast for 2 weeks out.

And the reaction to this by Treehugger groups?
"Australian Conservation Foundation energy program manager Erwin Jackson said theprojections required an urgent and immediate response from the federal Government to drive accelerated investment in low-emissions technology in Australia.

"Every day we delay taking action, the problem gets worse," Mr Jackson said.

"The Government keeps throwing up the costs of action but totally ignores the costs of inaction.

"No one ever said that saving the planet would cost nothing - that's the bottom line.""

Despite the fact that we as humans can do little or nothing to alter the course of the planets climate cycles, we still must take action now!

And the reality of this situation?
"A recent Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics report on the cost of cutting greenhouse gas emissions estimated Australians would incur a fall in real wages of about 20 per cent if the nation was to unilaterally cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2050. "

Yeah. 25% unemployment, and entering a depression, thats exactly what this world needs inorder to survive. Ya know, people might just starve to death before they even reach the point of higher temps.

Lets just stick with what we're doing, and life will be better for all involved.

Yes, the world needs to keep a clear head about this.
