Undeniable truths in life: Part 3
#3: No nation has ever taxed itself into prosperity.
Pretty obvious, really. With the citizens earnings being confinscated by the government, not much can go back into the economy. One of the downfalls of the Roman Empire was the taxes placed on the outlying regions, which made the tribes a lttle hacked off, having to fund a war on the other side of their world..
Government cannot create prosperity, it allows it by not getting in the way.
